The raven, and his brothers crow and jackdaw, are the most intelligent animals on our planet, together with apes and elephants. Every morning when I open the backdoor to feed our animals they are there waiting for me, greeting me. They had four young this year, now living on the from side of the house, parents in the backyard. Before finding out how smart they are I had a funny feeling about them. As if they actually knew who I was, recognized me, saw me. Now I know they do know who I am. This bird had been the subject of any mystical myths thourgout all cultures. The native Americans believe the crows made the Earth and places the Sun in our sky. After knowing ‘my’ crows for so may seasons now, I find their presence is there to remind me that life is so much broader and interesting than what we humans make ourselves believe.
