“When we crave simplicity, we are not after an easier life. We are after life.”
– Dave Bruno
Now my book is done I’ll write some practical posts on what this blog is all about in the first place : simple living and the beautiful answers it brings to modern life issues.
Often people think to change their lives they have to quit there job, leave their marriage, move to a caribbean island, etc. To change your life there is just one simple thing needed:
You start to say no when you mean no and start to say yes when you mean yes.
This is my motto, I believe in this more than anything, because it will make you more honest towards yourself about what you need, what you want, what you desire, and make very clear what you are doing that is not serving you.
It’s all about discipline, because sometimes it can be hard to say no or yes or sociably undesirable or even seem unkind. But in my experience, as long as you are very honest about your reasons, people will understand.
This candid attitude towards yourself will provoke more quality of life and more peace of mind. Suddenly you see how often you do things for others, because you think you have to or because you want to prove something. Do things that serve you, that nurture you, that you can share with others and let them feel the benefits too.
I found this today and it’s mostly what goes on my head. Constantly being surrounded by the first (yes even in some degree in France) and aways longing for more of the second.
